Import conditions · Saudi Arabia

Importing Japanese Wagyu into Saudi Arabia.

Japanese beef is eligible for the Saudi market, with halal slaughter certification and conditions on how the cattle were raised. These are the conditions we work to, confirmed per shipment.

Eligibility
Japanese beef is permitted into Saudi Arabia, from cattle born and raised in Japan. Conditions apply to how the cattle were fed — see the scope note below. We confirm eligibility for each consignment.
Documents
Japan's AQS export quarantine certificate, a meat sanitary certificate in the format the destination authority accepts, a halal slaughter certificate, and a certificate of origin. A radiation-monitoring certificate applies where required.
Facility
Slaughter must run through a facility certified by a halal certification body registered with the Saudi authority, with the establishment itself approved for export. We confirm the specific facility and its current registration per shipment.
Tariff
Beef is dutiable under the Gulf customs framework. We confirm the current treatment per shipment.
Chilled / frozen
Both supported; chilled at 0–4°C, frozen at −18°C or below, unbroken to the destination.
Clearance
The importer registers with the food and drug authority and registers the product before import. Document check and inspection follow on arrival.

About these conditions

This is general guidance, not a guarantee. Import eligibility, documents, tariff treatment and clearance times change — we confirm the current requirements for your market on each shipment, and source to order. Nothing here implies stock held in your market.

Halal and feed conditions

Saudi Arabia requires halal slaughter certification from a body it has registered, and sets conditions on the feed given to the cattle. Both are confirmed per consignment against the specific facility — we do not treat either as given. Tell us what your channel requires and we will confirm what can be met.
