Import conditions · Thailand

Importing Japanese Wagyu into Thailand.

Japanese beef is eligible for the Thai market. The importer holds standing licences and applies for each consignment in advance. These are the conditions we work to, confirmed per shipment.

Eligibility
Japanese beef is permitted into Thailand, from cattle traceable through the Japanese individual identification system as born and raised in Japan. We confirm eligibility for each consignment.
Documents
Japan's meat sanitary certificate meeting the destination's stated standard and the AQS export quarantine certificate, alongside the food import licence and livestock import approval the Thai importer holds.
Facility
Slaughter and processing run through establishments approved for export to Thailand. We confirm the specific facility per shipment.
Tariff
Beef from Japan can enter free of duty under the Japan–Thailand and ASEAN–Japan agreements where the origin requirements are met. We confirm the current treatment per shipment.
Chilled / frozen
Both supported; chilled at 0–4°C, frozen at −18°C or below, unbroken to the destination.
Clearance
The importer applies for livestock import approval ahead of arrival. Document and consignment checks follow at the quarantine station, and release can wait on test results.

About these conditions

This is general guidance, not a guarantee. Import eligibility, documents, tariff treatment and clearance times change — we confirm the current requirements for your market on each shipment, and source to order. Nothing here implies stock held in your market.

Scope

The import licences and the advance application sit with the importer in Thailand, and lead time depends on that schedule. If you do not have that setup yet, tell us and we will work through what it takes with you.
