Import conditions · United Arab Emirates

Importing Japanese Wagyu into the UAE.

Japanese beef is eligible for the UAE market. Halal certification and an approved slaughter facility are part of the requirement, and inspection on arrival is thorough. These are the conditions we work to, confirmed per shipment.

Eligibility
Japanese beef is permitted into the UAE. Product must come from a slaughter facility recognised for halal and registered for export to the UAE. We confirm eligibility for each consignment.
Documents
Japan's meat sanitary certificate and AQS export quarantine certificate, a halal certificate from a body the UAE recognises, and a certificate of origin. A radiation-monitoring certificate applies where required. The set is confirmed per shipment.
Facility
Slaughter must run through a facility approved by a recognised halal certification body and registered with the UAE authorities. We confirm the specific facility and its current registration per shipment.
Tariff
Duty treatment differs between chilled and frozen beef, and value added tax applies on import. We confirm the current treatment per shipment.
Chilled / frozen
Both supported; chilled at 0–4°C, frozen at −18°C or below, unbroken to the destination.
Clearance
Meat is treated as a high-risk food. Alongside the document check, consignments are commonly sampled for laboratory testing on arrival, which affects lead time. The importer registers the product with the relevant emirate authority before import.

About these conditions

This is general guidance, not a guarantee. Import eligibility, documents, tariff treatment and clearance times change — we confirm the current requirements for your market on each shipment, and source to order. Nothing here implies stock held in your market.

Halal

Halal requirements are set by the destination and differ by certification body and facility. We do not treat halal eligibility as given for any consignment — tell us which certificate and facility conditions your channel requires, and we will confirm what can be met before proposing anything.
